IN SEARCH OF CASSAVA CANES

The Hope Sakuma team embark on an expedition across the mighty Mabanta river to Senguma in search of cassava canes having dug so many heaps that the farms’ supply of cassava sticks is exhausted!

The team soon find a mature farm with many mighty cassava - enough to supply the ample number Hope Sakuma requires, spending the afternoon cutting in thickets of majestically high cassava before returning to the river to load the canoe with their bounty.

Meanwhile the Makelekos boys help out the Hope Sakuma team with even more heap digging to accommodate the bounty from Senguma.

And as the bounty of canes arrive back on the Hope Sakuma farm, John gets to work chitting the sticks at each nodule ready to plant for rainy season.
