TWO BRAIDS FOR SISTER SARAH

As the kids summer holiday in beautiful Sanda Magbolontor on the Hope Sakuma farm draws to a close Scout and Kye really really don't want to go. Amen. No man.

Meanwhile... there’s a heated hot hair debate going-on between ever-effusive and embuilliant Sarah, Ami and Destiny as to who braided who and how many times. Little miss, Sarah’s not sure whether it was four, three, five or two times and despite the consensus to the contrary she thinks it’s her hair-do is the tops!

The ferry opens and all good things must come to an end and so bags ar epacked, matresses rolled and the kids reluctantly cross the mighty Mabanta once more but as uncle Mo's tells the downcast kids: if you don't go how will you ever come back?

And after being let down by the promised transport - opting instead of orphans, coal as his preferred passengers - the kids travel country-style sharing their bus back with a fine looking Sanda long-horn cow!

This was the first ever holiday for most of the kids from Mama Mayila's Cradle, a whole month spent roming free and helping out on the Hope Sakuma farm, learning where their food comes from and we hope, the first of many trips linking disadvantaged kids to rural communities.
