BUMPER RICE HARVEST IN SIERRA LEONE

In-between clearing for cassava the Hope Sakuma team make time to harvest the paddies as the sequentially planted rice ripens, drying the ties in the Sanda sun before threshing back at the farm to be later winnowed and milled.

Meanwhile, our local partner feeder farms deliver the first of the Sanda palm oil harvest, a fantastic ten batas of the nutritious rich red oil, tested by a Mendes for purity and quality and destined for Mama Mayila's Cradle and Hopes’ programmes for vulnerable kids.
