More celebrations and songs on the Hope Sakuma farm as the team make some noise for the threshed harvest from the first six of our twenty Azolla-powered paddies.
Ten fat country bushels, weighing in at approximatley 75 kilo each, full of nutritous nerica rice ready to parboil to boost nutrition and two more bushels than last year, thanks to earlier application of Azolla and the addition of Vidal's ducks and Aunty Rugiatu's tialpia!
Proud of the Hope Sakuma harvest from the first six paddies the guys spread out their threshed rice to dry again, a very important stage prior to parboiling, a process which increases the rices' fiber, protein, calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium content to boost nutrition for our farmers and kids in our programes.
