SPOT CHECK FOR HOPE SAKUMA

A joyful song of welcome for the West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP) team to Hope Sakuma sustainable farm. Making a follow-up spot check on recent attendees to the intensive two-day financial boot-camp.

Our visitors inspected our three cassava and cashew farms founded in 2018 benefiting seven villages, as well as our processing hub with wet and dry areas and first class cassava grater hand-built in Sierra Leone.

Mohamed talks to the team about the boot-camp and the importance of good record keeping and profit and explains how four million leones from his travel expenses from the WACOMP event returned to the farm to help development.

The WACOMP initiative aims to link up SME agri-businesses with local finance for the palm oil and cassava value chains but so far, we’ve husbanded our resources investing income from our honey and rice and kind donations to develop our processing hub stocked with cassava grater and gari pan, sieves and fermenting processes all supporting local artisan metal workers and carpenters.
