BUTTERCUPS IN JUNE

The end of June and our second rice harvest is well underway here at Forekaria and across 12 other Sanda Magbolontor inland valley swamps, This time it's four month buttercup rice our farmers favorite!

Over at Masseng from field where it's cut by hand to the village where it's dried then threshed by foot this rice will help stock up Hope Sakuma villages with nutritious rice just rainy season when food gets scarce and prices sky-rocket.

Meanwhile, in Magbolontor - the same harvesting process is underway some of the dried seed will be used for Hope Sakuma's demonstration farm under construction, ready for the autumn opening of our permanent farmer field school.
