ALL IN A WEEKS WORK

In one short week the Hope Sakuma clear, level, puddle and plant not one, not two, nor three but four paddies!

The Hope Sakuma team make fantastic strides reclaiming and levelling another four paddies over the weekend ready to be tilled, puddled and seeded with #Azolla prior to planting our nutritious nerica l-19 and buttercup rice.

"By toe or by hoe we'll get this paddy puddled" as the old farmers saying would go if only there were such a thing but by hoe and by toe our farmers do indeed puddle the paddy to perfection working the clods of Sanda soil into a finer tilth prepared for planting Hope Sakuma's nursing rice seedlings.

Paddies puddled, nursing rice flushing green and it's time for the team to transplant our nerica L-19 and buttercup seedlings from their nursery beds. The Ladies carefully select the first weeks sown seedlings carrying them to the paddies for the gentlemen to deftly dib in, in neatly spaced rows ready for our Azolla and ducks to play their part.
