We can really imagine this space as a cookery now but can it really be ready by Monday? With just five days to go Joseph, our clever carpenter has finished the roof and built up the front to include a double door, double window and window to the side.
Dedicated volunteers Hassan and Hawa remain convinced we'll open in time and have their first weeks shopping list for the cookery and kiosk. The list is for an ambitious 20 cups of rice a day but Hawa explains that round here people are hungry and Hawa loves the idea of fair value - prices the same as in Freetown - believing it will encourage business.
