Meet Hope's Board for 2019-21 with newly elected Chair, Alfred Fornah, environmental champion, founder of Society 4 Climate Change Communications and also newly appointed to the International Office of Migration team.
Long-time friend of the charity, Dr Frank N'Yama, Bank of Sierra Leone, remains Treasurer and Aunty Rose Tiafoe, retired principal and life-long educationalist, is now our Secretary.
As well as meeting the kids, our new Board considered a packed agenda with Director, Mama Mayila and National Coordinator Mr Williams Tieh on hand to answer trustee questions.
The well-humoured meeting considered approval of our farm plan, annual report and activity plan, a revision to our child protection policy to take account of recent training from the Human Trafficking Unit. And the Board agreed to seek youth and women volunteers who can shadow our wise Board members and learn their art of governance, transparency and accountability.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to outgoing trustees Alfred Sima and Winifred Kamara-Cole who are always welcome to return to the Board as time-commitments permit.
