LADIES DOIN' IT FOR THEMSELVES!

Meet the Mothers Club and Gbonkorlenken, flying the Hope Sakuma banner and based in Chiefdom capital Sendugu. We're especially proud that these two new FBOs are all-women farmers. The Ladies join 12 other villages in Sanda Magboontor growing groundnut to boost nutrition and livelihoods in one of the most deprived Chiefdom in Sierra Leone.

Here the ladies mark out and dig a shady nursery bed for vegetables next to their groundnut farm planting seed in rows rather than scattering the traditional way to boost yield. Starting in 2017 with 6 bushels of groundnut and two villages, seven villages in 2018 and an amazing 14 villages this year that's going to be a mighty lot of groundnut!
