SERVING OUR COMMUNITY AT NEW YEARS

So the kids from Mama Mayila's Cradle spent New Years Day in the service of others, as they took 5 kilo of rice and 5 kilo of binch (beans) to some of our neighbours in Hamilton community.

Not to the concrete houses with windows and doors but to the kids living in pan-body shacks of corrugated iron and tarpaulin and to others living as caretakers in shells of half-started, roofless, windowless buildings. So many children lving in really difficult conditions. We were happy to meet so many new-borns and happy to give each one two organic cotton t-shirts kindly donated by Hardwickes of London (top fabric shop for tailors and seamstresses).

Talking to our neighbours, we find out what a struggle life is in Sierra Leone for people at the bottom of the pile and we discover not many access available services so we want to see what we can do to link their kids up to the help they need to thrive.
