GLORIOUS GROUNDNUT GALORE!

Seven villages working together in six teams collect their bags, tarpaulin and set to harvesting the groundnut in bumper quantities for Hope Samuma their self-governing co-op in Sanda Magbolonto Chiefdom.

Growing groundnut was this lady's idea, the chairlady of team Manays and she knows this harvest will boost nutrition locally and improve livelihoods. A third of the harvest will be saved for seed - enough to offer to neighbouring communities.

The chairlady and deputy chairladies of RoGbin show us their villages groundnut - this year seven villages have worked in six teams in competion to produce the most groundnut - a third of the harvest supporting our interim care and kinship fostering programmes.

RoGbaran chairlady shows us her village's groundnut - women help set and enforce our rules and women have an equal input into our farm plan supporting diversification into nutritious cashew nut and cassava.

Chairlady of Massilah shows us her village's groundnut - women have an equal voice and an equal say at all levels of Hope Sakuma - our co-op Director is a woman and every village has women chairs and deputy chairs.

The Ladies of Ro Rainte and Ro Yeima show us their harvest as they celebrate rural woman day in Sanda Magbolonto Chiefdom welcoming the Ladies of Mabonkaneh the eighth village to join their sustainable faming co-op, Hope Sakuma.
