Meet Lucky, one of Uncle Vidal's fine ducks from Freetown and proud mum to a bakers dozen of 13 newborn ducklings! Not destined for farm to table but instead for a life waddling free on Hope Sakuma's rice paddies feasting on Azolla and fertilzing our rice along with the tilapia fish.

Lucky's new chicks are soon to be joined by another 14 cousins as Henrietta sitting on a clutch of 14! In just nine months, Hope Sakuma's seven ducklings, kindly donated by our esteemed duck director Uncle Vidal, are growing to maturity producing twenty healthy chicks with seven of Jemima's chicks surviving.

Please and share our sustainable farming journey empowering rural women to improve nutrition, livelihoods and climate change adaptation in Sierra Leone.
