A GUIDED TOUR OF OUR 2020 BUNDINGS

Esteemed Engineer Amabest takes us on a six minute stroll walking us through progress on developing Hope Sakuma's inland valley swamp (IVS) bundings and rice paddy plots. Starting at the head bund of the first plot last year - where long-time readers will recall Azolla reaching Sanda Magbolontor last July - Amabest takes us past our original six plots, now combined by the Makelekos All-Stars into three larger 2,000 square metre paddies, mirrored on the other side of the bund by three new plots, all to be levelled off so the paddies hold enough water for Tilapia fish, who'll help our ducks fertilze the rice. Then a walk along 100 metres or so of newly constructed bunding before coming to the hard work still to do - more destumping and bund construction with space for maybe 20 more paddy plots - more than enough for our new duck families to roam free, feasting on Azolla and fertilzing our rice - taking us almost to the tree line that separates Hope Sakuma's rice paddies from our three hectare cassava and cashew farm.
