Soak up the beautiful Sanda Magbolontor scenery as Engineer Amara gives us a four minute guided tour, in impeccable English, of Hope Sakuma's precision bundings and irrigation channels - six plots of 30m x 40m completed in just 4 weeks - ready to be dug over for our nursing nerica rice seedlings. Inland Valley Swamps (IVS) like here at Hope Sakuma's demonstration farm can grow rice 3 times a year intensifying rice production sustainably boosting nutrition and livelihoods in Sanda Magbolontor chiefdom. Our permanent farmer field school will help teach neighbouring villages how to develop their own IVS and with space here for 100 IVS plots and 13 other sites surveyed we hope for great progress this year!
