BOLI LAND HARVEST!

Intrepid volunteers Mo, Andrew and Hassan follow the Sakuma wending it's way to Masanah, one of the three villages surrounding the boli lands. They're taking Abdulai Oumar Sheriff to see the start of the harvest of what we've been told by the ABC manager is the most rice grown in Sanda Magbolonto Chiefdom for many years.

And what a sight! Acres of boli land rice stretching as far as the eye can see all the way to the treeline and horizon. The volunteer farmers explain their needs to campaigner Abdulai Oumar Sheriff. A desparately needed tractor, a shortage of fertilizer, more food, plates for food, help in getting thier rice to market. But these Hope Sakuma farmers are determined to feed Sanda Magbolonto Chiefdom and beyond wanting to expand next year to a neighbouring boli even larger!

Mo is amazed at the size of the boli land and makes a plea for the tractor and Andrew explains that each of the 8 villages - Manays, Masillah, RoGbin, RoGabaran, RoTain, Ro Rainte, RoYeima, Mabonkane are sending two volunteers to live with the villages of Makatay, Daimba and Masana to help harvest. That will be a marvellous sight! 13 villages in Sanda Magbolonto coming together to improve the Chiefdom’s nutrition, food security, and climate adaptation. But even with the increased number the harvest will be a good months work.
