MOA WHARF COMMUNITY FOSTERING UNDERWAY!

Today sees the launch of our kinship fostering programme in Moa Wharf, one of the most deprived slum communities in Sierra Leone and in the pics you can see the team taking it in turns to distribute the monthly food support and obtain the signatures from verified care-givers.

We've been providing food support to children, orphaned by Ebola and keeping school age kids in school since the height of the Ebola crisis back in 2015. Our new programme sees the team in Moa Wharf every month, meaning children are assured of food every month and any problems identified by our resident co-ordinator, Momoh Bangura, can be addressed with care-givers.

In return for food and education support the care-givers agree to some basic care standards, things like not administering corporal punishment, making sure the children attend school and have time for homework.
