Celebrating African Child Day in Sierra Leone

Day of the African Child celebrated by the kids from Mama Mayil's Cradle with traditional drumming and story-telling.

Todays focus is on child protection, child empowerment and equal opourtnities for children. Our focus is on protecting children from harmful practices like early marriage and fgm, while also protecting them from the dangerous impacts of climate change; empowering children through education and giving understanding and the extra help some children - like those who lost their parents to deadly Ebola or who live with a disability - need to attain equality of opourtunity.
