PAEAN TO PINEAPPLE

The kids kitchen garden bears fruit as they celebrate their first home-grown pineapple golden ripe, rich in vitamins and ready to eat.  Two years in the making a sweet kiss for such a sweet fruit from Leo tests the pineapples aroma for ripeness and readiness.

Passing Leos' aroma tests, it's Ollie brandishing the knife but Alex that has the honours, severing the long-growing fruit from its sturdy stem.

Miss Sophie peels the spikey skin, carefully reserving the top to replant before cutting sticky sweet golden rings into chunks enough for everyone to have a taste! Planted two years ago while Mama Mayila's Cradle was still being built the kids now reap the benefit with their first harvest of nutritious pineapple.
